Pfff, I thought this would've been gone by now. I had and still have strong reservations regarding this sculpture being displayed on the plinth at Trafalgar Square. If one rules out the fact that Alison Lapper is techincally disabled no value can any longer be assigned to this work. On the other hand we don't really have much depiction of physical disabilities in art as such so I guess that could go in its favour but why here? I don't have anything against disabled people but I find this rather off-putting for whatever reason.
